A field agreement (FIELD-Level Agreement , FLA) is the most important agreement used in all types of partnership agreements between NGOs. An FLA promotes overall coherence in the partnership cycle and gives both parties assurance that their interests are protected by law. Tokyo, Japan, August 28, 2019 – Nec Corporation today announced the signing of a partnership agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to share expertise in biometric technology. As part of WFP`s strategy to streamline purchases of frequently purchased goods and services, a large number of long-term agreements (LTAs) are also used. This will significantly reduce delays and promote strategic supply chain alliances. Agreements can be concluded at WFP headquarters or in national offices. Current LTAs include telecommunications equipment, fuel, stationary services and a number of services needed at WFP headquarters. WFP has also implemented Food Service Agreements (FSAs) to reduce time and purchase costs. These agreements allow WFP to seize opportunities in commodity markets. FSAs must adhere to WFP procurement principles, which ensure fair competition, separation of duties, transparency, ethics and accountability. In accordance with UN Resolution 1267, all current and potential WFP suppliers will be monitored and eliminated on the basis of a regularly updated list of individuals, groups, businesses and other terrorism-related entities.
